GOVERNMENT IS NOT ABOUT TRUTH AND MORALITY

There is a thought process in the Zeitgeist of the general public that assumes government is some kind of paternal entity which owes them the absolute truth and is the progenitor of a Christ like standard of morality.
And this thought process that exists within the minds of much of the general public is childish and naive to say the least. Every politician of any consequence intuitively knows this truth and as a general rule detects what the public wants and needs to hear and in some way shape or form delivers that want and need in order to become politically empowered.

Jefery Epstein, a convicted pedo who hung out and paled around with the most powerful people on planet earth, including former presidents and billionaires and is thought to have been an asset of the FBI, CIA and or the MOSAD. Choose one or all?
And there is an expectation in the minds of some in the public sphere who believe that they are due the cold and un varnish absolute transparent truth about Epstein's activities and whether or not he in fact killed himself while under the total control of the government.
AND THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!
You might as well believe that you have the right to demand the actual nuclear launch code sequence, the actual codes and exactly how they are executed. Or you as a tax paying American demand an unlimited tour of Area 51. Now does that sound reasonable?
Government, ALL each and every government throughout history has never and will NEVER be about telling the populous that it governs anything close to the actual transparent unvarnished truth. Nor is the entity government in the morality business. Things / Entities do not have morality. The entity government and those who become politically empowered are in the power and control business, not the truth and morality business.
So possibly in 100 years or so when the facts of a political or governmental situation and the public through their own ability may become aware of what some believe they are entitled to, THE TRUTH. Even then, it will be questionable. Ask JFK.
And this does not mean that the public should not demand the truth from their politicians and government. That constant pressure in America especially is an essential component of the political dance and how the Constitution structures that some degree of truth about aspirational politicians and the activities of government are revealed to some great degree to the public.
So that the public is able to choose how to direct their country. This sounds a bit counter intuitive, but this is how America is structured, and this is how we continue to move positively into the future. The chaos and political warfare and battles in America are unique on the planet and that constant struggle is what keeps us healthy and viable.
Government and politics are a treacherous and deadly activity and because of that fact you will rarely as a member of the public be privy to what is actually going on in the dark back rooms where decisions related to governance and politics are made and BIG things happen.

Honesty is the best policy?
Not in politics or governance. Let us not be naive.

Demanding the nuclear codes is nonsense, and a tour of Area 51 only a diversion. But when the people believe not only that there is a 2-tier system of justice but also that they and their votes are meaningless because of the power brokers, that's what ignites real violence. I believe that Pres. Trump doesn't realize how much anger and distrust there is about how the government has lied to us for 50 years, and that the whole Epstein thing isn't really about the man--it's about the corruption and contempt for American citizens in our leaders and especially our intelligence agencies. The Political Realm would do well to remember that the ones holding the power can be swept away…
It's one thing for a government to keep secrets that, if published, would ultimately bring harm to the country. It's quite another to keep secrets because they would embarrass some high-ranking person or agency, as was done in Boston, where the FBI let Whitey Bulger and his gang literally get away with murder because they were FBI "assets."
Worst of all is when the government keeps secrets because they would bring (lawful) harm to elites, which is what so many people believe is the case with the Epstein files.
