JOBY AVIATION: WHAT IS AN EVTOL AND WHERE ARE THEY GOING?

How and when do you establish an entirely new mode of air transportation in the world? Establishing a new mode of air transportation which can reliably and safely transport human beings is no easy feat. I estimate that there are two moments in history where this event has happened. First was when the Wright brothers took flight in 1903. And at that point that the concept that human beings could in fact fly in a manmade machine was accepted was really the beginning. Then the standard for safe flight had to be developed and established through many design iterations, successes and failures. Flying has to be relatively safe and reliable in order to have the public accept such a paradigm shift in human transportation to the point where a viable business model can be formulated and executed.
And then the second moment in history in my estimation would be the moment that a Russian inventor, Igor Sikorsky demonstrated the viability of his helicopter concept. And that when you think about it is it, planes and helicopters driven by fossil fuel have been developed to be as safe as possible and reliable enough to transport mass numbers of human beings in a commercial setting and business model.
And then there is the moment that a third mode of transportation was imagined where more than one passenger can be safely transported and has now been realized in the fully functional JOBY S4 EVTOL which combines the best characteristics of both established modes of transportation, winged flight and vertical flight. This so called "Flying Car" mode of transportation has gone through many nascent concepts and designs but those concept and design aspirations were never able to meet up with the level of technology and materials available that could make it so. Because it / they did not exist. You cannot have the one without the other, especially with the existence of a heavily regulated established set of FAA standards and safety regulations.
There are several other aspirational EVTOL manufactures in America and around the world but JOBY Aviation and their initial S4 EVTOL, 10 years in quiet development, is the only EVTOL aircraft IMO established in this new mode of transportation that has the now proven concept, design and high-performance, operationally clean characteristics that will be fully manifested in the coming year of 2026. Only one company can demonstrate a fully operational EVTOL with a high degree of operational, performance and control characteristics with the first, second and third concerns being redundancy regarding SAFETY.
There will be others but the JOBY S4 will be the first and to be first and to be competent provides you with a significant advantage in markets. The EVTOL market potential is estimated to be $25 billion by 2030. Do your due diligence.
Sans any significant negative events as we close in on the end of the year 2025 and the start of the year 2026 prepare to see quietly flying overhead the JOBY AVIATION S4.
