JOBY'S S4 EVTOL OFFICIALLY ARRIVES IN NEW YORK CITY!

Going on five or so years ago I identified, evaluated and began investing in JOBY Aviation along with my good friend, George. Both George and I were very enthusiastic about this particular company and what they were endeavoring to accomplish. You saw several progress update reports posted here on the SIGMA3iOC blog.

George worked in finance and banking and had maybe one year ago retired, sold the house he lived in with his wife in NYC and moved to Florida. Life was good. We both believed, JOBY was good! Risky but good. With rationally evaluated risk there can be reward.

And yesterday on 4/27/26, JOBY Aviation and its S4 EVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing vehicle) officially arrived in New York City. These are demonstration flights that are being flown in concert with a U.S. government agency program to familiarize America with this brand-new mode of transportation as JOBY focuses on finalizing its FAA certifications.

Stay tuned on how this all develops; I will be watching to see if I can get a look at one flying overhead.

And unfortunately, as things sometimes go in life, and you can see this as a high random coincidence or a Jungian synchronicity which is how I see this. On that very same day 4/27/26 as the JOBY S4 that George and I were and are so enthusiastic about was flying its first demonstration flight between the downtown heliport in Manhattan and JFK airport my good friend George, who was one year younger than me, was buried just down the block from where I am writing this :(

George leaves behind a beautiful wife, three fine sons, I believe one grandchild, and many good friends.

Rest in peace George, you will certainly be missed by many.
