LAWFARE: GOOD FOR ME BUT NOT FOR YOU KNOW WHO

You may remember the legal turmoil that took place in Manhattan between now President D.J. Trump and the New York State Attorney General Leticia James. Ms. James publicly ran her campaign for Attorney general primarily based on "Getting Donald Trump". A financial case never before seen in court brought by Ms. James based on alleged mortgage fraud committed by the Trump organization in securing a mortgage for Trump Tower. Trump was found guilty.
CBS: "Trump, two of his sons and a former executive at his company were ordered in February 2024 to pay $364 million in "ill-gotten gains" and millions more in interest dating back years. The figure, which was then $464 million, continued to accrue more than $114,000 in interest per day. The judgment is on appeal."
I strongly suspect that this case will be reversed or drastically dialed down on appeal.
Trump was found guilty despite the bank with which he was doing business that issued the mortgage testified under oath who did their own due diligence that they were not defrauded or harmed, they were paid back with interest. And they looked forward to again do business with Mr. Trump and his organization.
And now in what looks very much like a lawfare prosecution against a person a private citizen, designed to financially destroy them who was in the process of running for the presidency. That has now turned into what appears to be an evidence-based mortgage fraud committed by non-other than.......Attorney General Leticia James? You just could never make this up.

Lawfare or the prosecution of a political opponent by those in political power in order to kneecap anyone who threatens their precious political power and agenda is the worst of the worst in political gamesmanship. It is a political strategy decision that threatens the Objective rule of law that is structured by the Constitution. The siren call of abuse of the power threatens every and all citizen in America. If "They" (Any "They" in politics) can do it to him, they can do it to anyone they deem a threat to their agenda. Be afraid.
The "NEW" DOJ has now brought credible Federal Criminal Charges based on evidence that pretty clearly indicates that Ms. James appears to have defrauded HER mortgage company!
If politically empowered politicians did not choose as good political soldiers to go down the lawfare win by any means necessary political mercenary road and played by the clear rules of juris prudence I suspect that they would not be in the situations of consequence they now find themselves. And I suspect that this trend in real consequences regarding mercenary politics will grow as more and more real evidence of such is revealed.
