THE POPE CRITCIZES TRUMP REGARDING WARFARE IN IRAN

"The Pope, an American, has been vocal in his criticism of Trump's policies, particularly when it comes to immigration and war. The Catholic leader has condemned the war in Iran and said that the Trump administration's treatment of immigrants has been "extremely disrespectful."
Does the Pope forget the very rich history of the Papacy and the church?
"Papal warfare almost always boiled down to territory and power. Church leaders argued they needed to defend Rome and the lands that provided the church’s independence. Historians such as John Julius Norwich point out that the revenues from these lands kept the papacy afloat, funding everything from massive building projects to feeding the poor, and, yes, keeping soldiers on the payroll."
How soon we forget and become elevated so far above the everyday practical and aspirational existential struggles in life.
President Trump is taking care of business in the real world, and I will just leave that there.

Yes, well, I think this is one of those "do as I say, not as I do" statements, since the Vatican walls are 39 feet high by almost 11 feet thick. And I doubt that migrants are welcomed there with open arms (and purses).
BTW, they are called the Leonine Walls. Perhaps named after an earlier Pope Leo?
