WHAT IS GENOCIDE?
I was wondering about this question since this Genocide term and theme is very prominent in the argument for those on the "progressive" Left. And I will fully admit that I am not fully read in on all of the dirty and gruesome details and the politics of Gaza and the region.
But I was curious and I asked this question: What is the population of Gaza today?
Answer: (2026: "Gaza’s population stands at approximately 2.13 million people as of the most recent mid-year estimate, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS)")
And I looked a bit further, the answer continued: "Gaza’s population growth has been rapid over the past few decades. Between the 1990s and 2020, the population roughly doubled, largely due to natural increase rather than migration, with nearly half of the population under the age of 18 (Factually)".
I do not know if this "natural increase" trend in population growth in Gaza remains at this moment in time, I will assume it is still so.
Then I asked this question: What is the definition of Genocide: "The deliberate destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group".
Then I remembered that the population of Gaza has doubled in about 10 years. Seems counter intuitive to me if there is in fact a Genocide ongoing in Gaza.
When I think Genocide, I think of the systematic way that Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao and Hitler all members of the Marxist / Socialist / "democratic" methodology of governance and population control club who reduced the number of people they did not favor through organized systematic murder. That is what I think of when I hear the word, Genocide.
Then I saw these two sentences below and thought: Is Genocide the correct objective term to use in regard to describing what is going on in Gaza? Or is the term Genocide a strategic hot button political emotionalized tool of manipulation used for political purposes?
"MUSLIMS START A WAR, AND CALL IT "JIHAD".
"MUSLIMS LOSE A WAR THEY STARTED; THEY CALL IT "GENOCIDE".
