This is what desperation and ZERO leverage looks like in politics.

Chuck and Hakeem Jefferies are totally owned by Trump and the Republicans. You can see the fear and desperation in Chucks, face. And listen; you can hear the weakness in his voice.

So embarrassing.

Chuck does not have the cards nor the stones to shut down the government, he is desperately looking for a bone from the president though. Chuck is posing as a strong man, which he is not.

Trump knows this look and sound of a wounded opponent, and he will play it and them like a symphony. (Much like Putin is playing him)
